Are you in BC Canada? Are you unsure of how to get certified? Do you need help choosing a Personal training certifying body?
The first thing you need to know is that being certified from any of these institutions will get you a job.
Your options are:
Ace - cheapest sign up on Ace's website.
CFES - Highly recommend, (there are several steps to complete before being certified as a PT).
NASM- Sign up on NASM's website.
BCRPA - Courses can be done through Infofit or a BCRPA course conductor (there are several steps to complete before being certified as a PT).
Your goal is to be certified and to work.
There is alot of information online about how prestigious one company is over the other but when it comes to being hired, what I have observed is that gyms just need you to be certified and to have some experience in the field or in a gym setting doing sales or working the front desk. Do not underestimate how valuable an ACE certification is, you can always upgrade your studies as time progresses. I recommend you look into CFES because their instructors are amazing. Personal trainers certified under them are also a pleasure to deal with. CFES and BCRPA courses are held in a classroom so you'll get the benefit of being among like minded individuals and you'll also get on-the-floor experience with your course conductor. If this sounds like what would benefit you, contact a course conductor in your area.
